Fun isn’t something one considers when doing the Fantasy Acting League, but this round… this round puts a smile on my face…

Yes, Infinity War time. Surprisingly, this round isn’t the powerhouse I quite thought it would be. Besides Infinity War, only three other films scored people any points and one of those films was Gnomeo and Juliet. However, Infinity War was clearly on a lot of people’s minds. Marvel are one of the most consistent production companies out there and Infintiy War had so many good actors, it seemed silly not to pick someone. Grab some points for Chris Pratt, knowing he was going to pick up with Jurassic World later. Brolin has a plethora of movies coming out straight after Infinity War. It seemed silly not to pick anyone from Infinity War. Then Empire gave it a five star review. Let the points soar in!

Note to players: I have decided to cast Josh Brolin as a lead actor, seeing as he had the most screen-time and half the movie was about building up his character. It only seemed fair.

Round Analysis

Josh Brolin was always going to be a big hitter, wasn’t he? As the Fantasy Acting League got underway, there was the slow realisation that we all should have picked Josh Brolin. How didn’t we see that he wouldn’t reap the points for playing the baddest bad in any Marvel movie ever, as well as a role in Sicario sequel, Soldado, and Deadpool? In Infinity War, he was pretty much the only thing worth talking about. While it means the likes of Pratt, Cumberbatch and Hemsworth only get to bask in the shadows of Brolin (although their points are most welcome), those that picked Brolin will be jumping for joy.

However, as usual, it is the teams who can bunch winners together who do the best. Cinema Parrot Disco has, for the first time this year, looked threatening, almost as though she had been waiting for Marvel to make their move since we first started. However, it was Kieron Townsend over at What About the Twinkie that impressed the most, amassing 28 points, more than what he had before today that shot him over into first place. Any more points and he would be able to snap his fingers and we would all crumble away into dust.

  1. I was really disappointed when I sat through Infinity War with no sign of Paul Rudd. He was even listed in iMDB! Drat.
I do believe Michelle Williams deserves some points for my team, though. 😉
