Non-mover rounds might not be the most entertaining episodes of Fantasy Acting League, but they do have an important part in the competition. For one, it provides a chance for the middle of the pack to make their move. While the majority of bloggers are stuck where they were, some of the teams that were wondering if they would ever catch up are suddenly able to make their move. Ground is definitely broken this time around and some teams are going to be silently cheering. Perhaps not silently…

Round Analysis

In terms of individuals actors, it is a rather disappointing round. A lot of the stars we were banking on, either performed to their best, but were trapped in failing movies (Elle Fanning in How To Talk To Girls At Parties), or simply didn’t get any recognition in Empire’s reviews. Those who had picked the ever-excellent Ben Mendelsohn or the incredible Emily Blunt must feel downright cheated that neither actor was mentioned in the review in terms of their acting ability. The prowess of either film backfired; there was simply too much to talk about to the point where the magazine ran out of time to mention the pair of them. So while a handful of points were won; it feels like a hollow win. The exception to the rule appears to be Lily James, who, while sporting the most ridiculous title of the year, came out of nowhere with an impressive six points.

In terms of the teams, Abbi Osbiston appears to have the most cause for celebration. She has worked her way up to second place by piling these middle of the pack winners together. She appears to have managed to get ahead of a bloated middle, where a stalemate seems to be causing chaos. It makes this year a hard competition to predict, so Abbi must be happy to be up there with the ones worth putting money on. At the bottom of the pack, Jemma from the Random Musings of the Female Mind has been waiting for this week for a long time. Lily James and Emily Blunt have just given her that foot up on the ladder she was waiting for, taking her to, not a fantastic start, but a start where she has a chance to break some expectations. Yeah, this might be a slow month, but an exciting one, nonetheless.
