The penultimate round. Last time, we had a triple tie between What About Movies, Sporadic Chronicles and Cinema Parrot Disco. The race is tighter than it has ever been before. I wasted no time in grabbing a copy of Empire and calculating the scores. The results are not as enlightening as you want them to be. The trophy is still anyone’s game. Perhaps that is better. After today, there is only one more round…

Which means that in about a fortnight, I am going to be pushing for next year’s entries. Have a good hard think. I am going to be posting a yearly analysis in the New Year (it might be my New Year’s Day surprise for you all), so we can all see where we went wrong. My team has been massively let down by Maika Monroe and Chloe Grace Moretz, who did nothing this year. Knowing that has made me all the more determined to scrap the dead weight from my team and bring a winning ensemble next year. You better watch out. 2018 is the year of the Oracle of Film.

(Chloe Sevigny and Rebecca Ferguson were skipped from the last round, so those points have been added accordingly. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know any other problems immediately.)

Round Analysis

Ready when you are, Marvel.

The pack has broken out. Locked in a tussle, Zoe lost out, scoring no points. She was knocked down a few pegs, falling to fifth, but by no means out of the race. Cinema Parrot Disco tried to climb out on top, with the dependable J. K Simmons offering her his mandatory token points, but it was Lily from What About Movies who got to the top spot this month. Surprisingly though, the top three weren’t the story worth talking about. Verbal Spew, who should probably think about renaming herself to Verbal Warning, shot in between the pack, forcing her way through the ranks, like a kid desperate to get through her advent calendar in a single day. With an incredible 17 points, she is now nestled in third and cleverly placed to take the win if the points land her way on the final round. It is now even more exciting, as we are clueless as to who will win the trophy of 2017.
