The penultimate round. After today, we only have one more chance to place first. Ost of us are out of the running. A few are licking their wounds and hopefully using this link to set their 2017 teams up. Some are not planning on winning this title and just trying to claw a few places higher. And a few of the teams are locked so tight in a frantic dash for the top place that it’s go hard or go home time. And I tell you what… after today’s modest but healthy round, there are only a few points in the top spot.

Round Analysis

CPD is back on top. Barely. After constant reminders, she did have Woody Harrelson on her team, picking up a polite four points in Edge of Seventeen. It saw Cinema Parrot Disco hop a few points ahead of leader Lily from What About Movies and Verbal Spew, claiming her usual spot at the front. However, she is far from safe. There is one more round to go and December usually throws some wrenches into the works. Will she make it to the victory post in time for Christmas? Or has she spent too long on that naughty list?

This is Woody Harrelson judging your team for next year.

A little bit underneath the fighting three are the two South Africans of the league, who claiming the top prize isn’t a laughable suggestion. Zoe made good use of Tom Hanks, an ace in the hole for anyone that would have him. It is a shame that Sully didn’t make an overall hit in the cinemas, but Tom Hanks held up his end of the bargain and hammered home a worthy performance. He helped a few teams climb the table a bit, although it is too late for some. However, face saving was the key for a lot of the teams. Debra Vega has spent the last two rounds ploughing ahead, able to bow out respectively. The other half of What About Movies’ Prudence also used Benedict Cumberbatch, the highest scorer today, to worm higher, although with dead weights Emory Cohen and Rooney Mara in her team, it is little too late. For a lot of us, it is all about learning from the top of the table, planning for our 2017 run and then just enjoying the top five battle it out for the final round. It could be one to watch!

  1. A fine contest! It’s went right to the wire. I’m a bit disappointed in some of my performers but it’s been great fun nonetheless. Really struggling for next year’s picks too. Nobody is jumping out at the moment.
